OER + ScholComm is an IMLS-funded collaboration to research the ideal components of and to develop a corpus of open educational resources (OER) that supports formal and continuing education preparing librarians to work in and advocate for change in the scholarly communication landscape. There are two primary outcomes of our work. First, an openly-licensed book-length introduction to scholarly communication librarianship and the forces that shape and inform it, Scholarly Communication Librarianship and Open Knowledge, published in the Fall of 2023 by ACRL. Second, a platform called the Scholarly Communication Notebook, or SCN, that both compliments and extends the book as an active hub of open teaching and learning content scoped to scholarly communication topics.
For more background and information on principle investigators, please see the About and Scholarship pages. For the latest updates see the News page. For more information about the book and the SCN, see the Book and Notebook pages, respectively. Please contact us if you have questions, related ideas, and/or feedback!
